Although there have been a few hemp builds in New Zealand for sometime, this last year has seen a real growth in interest in hemp construction.
We’ve had some involvement in that growth, since a number of NZ builders from Erkhart Constructions came over to Australia to complete their training with us. We’ve also supplied the materials for 2 homes in Wanaka (both Australian hemp and AHMC Binder) that they’ve built and just Binder for a third home. This third home will be using NZ hemp which is a big and fantastic step forward.
We’re also working with Hinemaia Hemp who are committed to improving the housing situation for Maori in rural communities and whose goal is to build an iwi owned and operated intergenerational industry.
