Although there have been a few hemp builds in New Zealand for sometime, this last year has seen a really growth in interest in hemp construction.
We’ve had some involvement in that growth, since a number of NZ builders have been over to Australia to complete their training with us. We’ve supplied the materials for 2 homes in Wanaka (both Australian hemp and AHMC Binder) and just Binder for a third home, all built by Erkhart Constructions. This third home will be using NZ hemp which is a big and fantastic step forward.
We’re also working with Hinemaia Hemp who are committed to improving the housing situation for Maori in rural communities and whose goal is to build an iwi owned and operated intergenerational industry.
