Hempcrete in commercial and residential applications. Specialist practical workshop in Cressy, Tasmania.

We have invited Shane Hannan from Hannan Build who recently completed the UTAS Forest hempcrete installation to travel to Cressy to deliver this workshop.

This hands on workshop will give you experience in mixing and installing hemp lime building materials. It is the practical component of our training and combined with the online theory workshop, this workshop will complete your Australian Hemp Masonry hemp construction training.

The main applications for hempcrete in Australia are in new residential construction and retrofitting to improve thermal comfort, energy efficiency or acoustics.

Over the past 10 years Australian Hemp Masonry has supplied BCA compliant hemp building materials and worked with hemp builders and designers and with owner builders, on 240+ residential construction projects in multiple Australian climate zones.

AHM has also supplied the materials for a number of commercial builds including the Mildura Powerhouse Project, the Innovation Centre at the Byron Steiner School, the Lithgow Women’s Shed and UTAS, where the old Forestry Building has been refurbished with hemp.

Our workshops share this experience. Builds using our materials have also won quite a number of significant Australian energy efficient building and design awards in the past 5 years.

The workshops include hands on experience because learning to mix the Hemp lime material well is critical, as is learning the techniques for installing, to ensure that the outcome is both beautiful and provides optimal thermal and acoustic performance.
