National design award for Culburra Beach Hemp house

A CULBURRA Beach home has won a National Building Designers Australia award in Hobart.

Kirstie Wulf, from Shelter Building Design, won the award for new residential buildings up to 250m2 and under $2,000/m2, for the house she designed and built at Culburra Beach.

Natural materials, including hempcrete walls, plywood ceilings and sheep’s wool insulation were used in the home.
